Nippers Registrations Are Opening
Registrations for the 2026/27 Nippers season are open, and we can’t wait to welcome new and returning families back to the beach.
Nippers is where every one of our senior lifesavers got their start, and it’s one of the best introductions to surf safety, teamwork, confidence and beach awareness your child can get.
Our Nippers season starts on 18 October 2026 and runs through to 28 March 2027. We meet from 9:30 am each Sunday for a 10:00 am start.
Please keep an eye on our Facebook group for upcoming details and season updates:
Who Can Join
Nippers is open to children aged 5 to 13, split into age groups so everyone is learning alongside others their own age. No prior experience is needed — just a willingness to get sandy, have a go and join in.
Children must have turned 5 years old by 30 September of the current season before they can become a Nipper member.

Compulsory Nippers Uniform
We love seeing our Nippers in uniform because it helps create a strong sense of belonging at Woonona SLSC. It also plays an important role in keeping everyone safe on the beach and in the water.
There are two mandatory uniform items:
Pink high visibility singlet rashie: $27
Club cap for U8-U14 or green cap for U6/U7: $20
Prices are subject to change.
Skull caps are green for Under 6s and Under 7s. Other age groups wear the white skull cap with two black stripes.
The cap helps us identify and organise our Nippers safely during each session.
At the start of each Nippers session, the cap goes on and the parent signs the Nipper in. At the end of the session, the parent signs the Nipper out. The pink singlet helps make sure every child is highly visible in the surf and on the beach.
We’re looking forward to a wonderful Nippers season at Woonona SLSC.
